I wasn’t the academic student. I was the practical one, the creative one. I learned by doing, solving problems and taking opportunities when they appeared. It took me years to discover where I truly belonged, but every challenge shaped the person I am today.
Throughout my career, I’ve always looked for better ways to create opportunities. Long before online casting became common practice, I introduced online auditions to make the casting process more accessible for performers. That same belief in using new ideas to remove barriers and open doors continues to influence the way I work today.
Over the past 35 years, my career has taken me from film and television productions to leading complex operations, international logistics and award-winning projects. Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to work with incredible people, learn from exceptional mentors and help others discover opportunities that changed the direction of their own lives.
Those experiences continue to drive me to make more films, tell more stories and create more opportunities for people to gain experience, build credits and take the next step in their careers.
For me, filmmaking has never just been about getting a film made. It is also about the people who get their first opportunity because that film exists – and where that opportunity might take them next.
Today, that experience drives me to keep creating — to make more films, tell stories that deserve to be seen and create even more opportunities for people both in front of and behind the camera.
Throughout my career, I’ve seen first-hand what can happen when someone is given the right opportunity at the right time. I believe talent, professionalism and hard work should open doors — not who you know or where you started.
I’ve already had the privilege of creating opportunities that have helped people gain experience, build credits and move forward in their careers. Now I want to create more of them. Because one opportunity really can change the direction of someone’s life — and time is the one thing none of us ever get back.
